CHRISTMAS PARTY
We are very excited to present an AAA party. In addition to great hiking and wonderful food, we will have a special Christmas party on Saturday Night. The theme is ‘Anything beginning with A' for your fancy dress!
As always, fancy dress is mandatory (and not your hiking gear 😉).
You can choose a costume that identifies as a character from a film or an object- anything really! We leave it up to your imagination and creativity 😉. Prizes for the best outfits will be awarded as we dance the night away to cool international tunes!
Here are some costume ideas: Adam Ant, Arnold Schwanigger or any of his movie characters, Albus Dumbledore, Aladdin, Alice (Alice In Wonderland Series), Austin Powers, Ace Ventura, Andy (Toy Story Franchise), Abe Simpson (The Simpsons), Abraham Lincoln - 16th President of the USA, avocado and so on.
This trip is a great chance to catch up with the hiking friends you have met during this and previous years.

AAA has hosted Hiking Weekend events for over a decade. Our wealth of experience will ensure you enjoy some great hikes and food.

HIKE GRADES
You will have a choice of hikes, ranging from Moderate to Energetic, all led by very capable hike leaders. AAA hike leaders have extensive navigational and hike-leading experience and are trained in wilderness first aid.
You can expect the shorter hikes to be around 15km and the longer hikes to be 25+ km. We will take the weather into account and offer routes on the day.
ITINERARY
The event starts at the hostel at 18:00 and finishes after the half-day hike on Sunday around 2 p.m.

ACCOMMODATION
AAA has exclusive use of Okehampton YHA. This old railway goods shed (in the past) set on the edge of Dartmoor has been converted into a modern hostel, which forms a great centre for exploring the wilds of Dartmoor. Wi-Fi is available on this property, all bed linen is provided and most rooms are en-suite.
Accommodation is in male and female rooms for 4 & 6 people.

FOOD
Meals are provided and include vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available upon request with advance notice at the time of booking.
TRANSPORT
Driving is the best option to reach the Hostel. Please check out this page to find or offer a ride.
